Successful Dieters Deal with Holiday Food

My favorite time of the year -- November! It is almost time for the holidays and everything that comes with it: family, friends, gifts and FOOD. The food situation can be a little tricky so, like I mentioned in my previous post, I recommend that you begin to prepare yourself NOW by deciding how you will respond to all of the delicious temptations around the corner.

Here are a couple of tips to dealing with all those temptations.

First, prevent yourself from getting "hungry." If you let yourself get hungry then you intensify the difficulty of this battle. Do your best to eat (healthfully) throughout the day so that all the snacks and rich foods are easier to pass up or eat in moderation.

Second, eat in moderation. ALLOW yourself to have some of the things you enjoy. Be very selective and set clear limits (ask for help if needed), but don't completely deprive yourself of the goodies.

Here is a cookbook that can help you keep more healthy treats around. Cooking Light Cookboook: The Ultimate Guide from America's #1 Food Magazine (Cookbook)

Do you have any other suggestions? How do you deal with the temptations of holiday foods?
